This site is dedicated to the history of the Los Angeles Police Department.  The content is mostly new, never before seen doucments and articles on the development of law enforcement in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles City Archives holds  a vast amount of source material related to the development of the Department and have allowed access to those documents and most importantly, the reproduction of those documents to post on this site.
